Megan Romberg, PhD
National Mycologist/Plant Pathologist
Megan Romberg has worked in fungal and bacterial identification for national laboratories since 2008, including three years in New Zealand with the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries, and currently as a national mycologist with National Identification Services at USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). She was also a science and technology policy fellow for the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) from 2006 to 2008 at USDA Economic Research Service (ERS), where she worked on projects related to phytosanitary barriers to trade, giving her a broad perspective on the subject. She holds bachelor’s degrees in botany and German and a PhD in plant pathology, all from the University of California, Davis.
