Joseph Deugwillo

Joseph Deugwillo is an agriculturalist on the Quarantine Policy, Analysis and Support (QPAS) staff in Riverdale, Maryland. He supports daily operations of plant products transiting the United States by ensuring agricultural safeguards are implemented by both trade and regulators. This enables trading partners to move plant products safely across the United States while minimizing the risk of introducing diseases or exotic insects to domestic agriculture. Before working in QPAS, he worked on other programs within the USDA, including Preclearance and Offshore Programs (POP), whose main function is to inspect plant commodities overseas in order to detect plant pests and diseases before they are shipped to the United States. Joseph attended the University of Maryland, College Park, where he earned degrees in both Environmental Science and Geographic Information Systems.
