Lesson 4: How the Process Works

APHIS uses the U.S. regulatory process to fulfill its obligations under the SPS Agreement for a transparent participatory process. However, local requirements and conditions also govern APHIS’ consideration of market access requests. In this lesson, we will explore how APHIS’ regulatory process works, what considerations occur at each step of the process, and how the public can participate in the process.
