Lesson 2: Risk Perception, Behavior and Acceptance
❝A common misconception about risk communication is that it is simply about making information understandable. However, research has shown that people will not necessarily change their beliefs or behavior upon receiving information, even when they understand it. People’s perception of the risk heavily influences their reactions to risk information. Therefore, communicators must first understand how risk is perceived by the audience in order to deliver an effective message.
In Lesson 2, we will discuss how people perceive and construct risk and the factors that influence how people understand, react, and respond to risk.❞
